Artist´s statement

I painted the collection because of injustice. Painting was a way to get rid of the pain, the pain of seeing what was happening to people.
It was a way to express that, a way to tell the story through my eyes.

I want people to know the story and see it this way. If people see these paintings and say I understand it a bit more, I am happy.

I am an artist and an activist. I Have always been interested in the history of Aboriginal people and whitefellas and the impact of whitefellas since they came to this country.

This collection is also for my kids and grandkids.

I´m giving them this. This is part of them, their culture. I am passing down a story, in Aboriginal way. This story is real.
